The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has exceeded its 2024 revenue target of GH₵ 145.9 billion, collecting an impressive GH₵ 153.5 billion; 5.3% above the projection.
This represents a nominal growth of 35% compared to 2023, driven by strong performances across multiple revenue streams.
Domestic revenue grew by 31.6%, while customs revenue surged by an impressive 47%, significantly boosting the overall collection. Corporate Tax stood out, generating GH₵ 38 billion, well above the target of GH₵ 30 billion. Mineral royalty revenues also outperformed, reaching GH₵ 5.2 billion against a GH₵ 3 billion target.

The GRA attributed its success to intensified compliance measures, which expanded the revenue base and strengthened collections. Despite a slight shortfall in the e-levy collections (GH₵ 2 billion against a GH₵ 2.1 billion target) and the COVID-19 Health Recovery Levy (GH₵ 2.7 billion against a GH₵ 4.2 billion target), the authority managed to achieve its overall goals.
Additional contributions came from new levies such as the Sanitation Debt Recovery Levy, Energy Sector Debt, and Sanitation and Pollution Levy, bringing total revenue to GH₵ 157.9 billion.
