The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has waived the land renewal fee for the Asokwa McKeown Temple of The Church of Pentecost. The benevolent act was met with gratitude from the church’s leadership, who paid a courtesy visit to the Manhyia Palace recently to express their heartfelt appreciation to the revered monarch.
Leading the delegation from the Asokwa Area of The Church of Pentecost was the Area Head, Apostle Peter Kofi Dzamekey. He was accompanied by the Area Executive Committee members, including Pastor Dr. Kofi Atakora Wiafe, Pastor Stephen Kwabena Asuo, Pastor Alex Nana Oppong, Pastor Lawrence Affum, Deaconess Rosemond Adjei, Deaconess Abigail Ofosuhene, and Elder Isaac Addei Boateng, the Presiding Elder of the McKeown Worship Centre, Asokwa, Kumasi.
The visit to the palace was to officially thank Otumfuo for his gracious decision to waive the land renewal fee, a gesture that underscores his continuous support for religious and developmental activities in the country.
As a token of their appreciation, the church leaders presented various gifts and a sum of money to the Asantehene. However, in an extraordinary act of goodwill and humility, the king, through his linguist, expressed his gratitude to the church and returned the monetary gift. Instead, he urged that the money be put as an offering in his name.
