Team Ghana have departed for Egypt for the upcoming 16th Africa Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships slated for April 30.

They include Johnson Gyarko, Oduma Agyei, Yemen Bozuma Cornie, Jacob Kaleem, Michael Crabbe-Mann, Jada Yankey, Tamba Akin Boamah and Rihana Yankey headed by coach Kenneth Ankrah.

The swimmers will participate in breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle, butterfly, medley events among others.
“The training you put in when you are home, will show on the day of the competition and so far, we have assembled the best, the Crème de la crème we have in this country to represent Ghana,” coach Kenneth said.

Captain Oduma , who was instrumental in Ghana claiming 28 medals at the Africa Aquatics Zone II Junior and Senior Championships, hosted in Accra added: “The target that we set for ourselves is to just do our best, set new records for ourselves, expect awesomeness.

The four-day continental event provides an opportunity for the swimmers to improve their performance ahead of the World Championships in September
