During the visit, Hon. Adjei underscored the government’s commitment to completing all stalled projects, with particular emphasis on the Saglime affordable housing project. This move is expected to provide relief to many Ghanaian families in need of affordable housing options.

The Minister also addressed the issue of uncompleted sea defense projects, highlighting the need for a hands-on approach to secure appropriate financing options. This will supplement government funding to ensure the timely completion of these projects, safeguarding the lives and properties of coastal communities from the threats of sea erosion.

Furthermore, Hon. Adjei acknowledged the challenges posed by the choked Odaw Drains, which continue to pose significant flood risks in Accra and its environs.

While dredging is currently underway through the GARID Project, the Minister stressed the importance of addressing indiscriminate waste disposal practices that hinder government interventions. To this end, he advocated for intensified public education campaigns to change behavior and promote sustainable waste management practices.

The working visit is scheduled to continue today, Wednesday, February 19, 2025. As the Minister gains valuable insights from this visit, Ghanaians can expect a renewed focus on infrastructure development, aimed at improving the lives of citizens and driving economic growth.
