Minister-designate for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has reiterated the need for enhanced investment in key tourist destinations such as Mole National Park in the Savannah region, of the country.
During her vetting before Parliament‘s Appointments Committee earlier today, Madam Gomashie noted the importance of tourism as a driver of economic growth and job creation. She, therefore, observed that tourist sites like Mole National Park, a perennial favorite among visitors, require targeted investments to maximize their potential.
“I agree that Mole has been a prominent site for years, but it needs more investments now. This sector requires focused attention to bring in the resources needed to elevate tourism’s role in our economy,” she stated.

Madam Gomashie linked the need for investment in tourism infrastructure with broader initiatives under the Black Star Experience model. This framework, she said, aims to empower local assemblies to lead arts, tourism, and cultural projects, creating synergies that could revitalize the industry and enhance Ghana‘s global appeal.
In addition to her focus on Mole National Park, she indicated her readiness to advocate for the cultural and creative arts sectors.
The experience of the Tourism Minister-designate includes serving as a rapporteur for the ECOWAS Committee on the Reparation of Stolen African Artefacts and playing a key role in forming the Creative Arts Council, now the Creative Arts Agency.
She pledged to leverage her expertise to justify the confidence placed in her by the president while also expressing optimism about the sector’s future.
