Ghana’s Economic Policies Explained for Business Owners

The Minister of Transport, Joseph Bukari Nikpe, has led a high-level delegation on a strategic study tour to Rwanda to gain insights into the successful regulation and integration of motorcycles, popularly known as ‘Okada,’ for passenger transport.

The study tour will shape Ghana’s transport policy, particularly in regulating commercial motorcycles and tricycles, with emphasis on safety, efficiency and economic sustainability.

Lessons from the tour would help Ghana to develop a regulatory framework to enhance road safety, support economic empowerment and promote environmental sustainability.

It would also support creating an effective regulatory environment for Okada in Ghana, ensuring the successful and sustainable implementation of this transport mode.
