Ambassador Nørring highlighted Denmark’s new Africa Strategy, which includes a commitment of DKK +1 Billion to the African water sector. This significant investment aims to expand and improve water access in Northern Ghana and enhance water efficiency in the Tema region.

The development project is linked to the ongoing SSC and the feasibility study of the Aveyime Water investment project. This project aims to address the water deficit in Tema and Greater Accra, providing a sustainable solution to the region’s water challenges.

In addition to this significant investment, Ambassador Nørring reiterated Denmark’s commitment to supporting Ghana’s water sector through the DANIDA Fellowship Centre. The centre offers capacity-building programs for technical experts and policymakers, ensuring that Ghana has the necessary expertise to manage its water resources effectively.

As Ghana and Denmark continue to work together towards sustainable water solutions, the two countries are poised to make significant strides in improving access to clean and potable water for all. With Denmark’s continued support and commitment, Ghana’s water sector is set to benefit from innovative solutions, expertise, and investment.
