Following the discussions, the Commission directed the participating utilities to submit comprehensive reports by Thursday, October 22, 2026.

The reports are expected to outline the causes of recent electricity supply interruptions, corrective measures already implemented, outstanding operational challenges and planned interventions, together with clear timelines for implementation.
The Commission will use the submissions to assess the situation and guide further regulatory engagement and coordinated interventions aimed at addressing the recurring electricity supply challenges.
The emergency engagement underscores the importance of cooperation among institutions responsible for electricity generation, transmission and distribution, particularly at a time when households and businesses require a stable and dependable power supply to support their daily activities.
The Energy Commission emphasised the need for stronger collaboration, operational accountability and timely interventions across the electricity sector to ensure sustained improvements in service delivery.
Reliable electricity remains essential to Ghana’s economic activities, industrial operations and public services. The recurring interruptions have therefore heightened the importance of identifying lasting solutions that will minimise disruptions and strengthen public confidence in the country’s power supply system.
The Energy Commission reaffirmed its commitment to working with relevant sector institutions to improve electricity supply reliability and ensure that consumers and businesses across Ghana receive dependable electricity services.
