Describing the company as a “beacon of Ghanaian potential and integrity”, the chief lauded Comsys for shaping the digital landscape in Greater Accra Region and beyond.
“Trust is not given; it is earned. For 25 years, Comsys has kept its word to clients, workers, and the nation,” he stated.
He also acknowledged the company for pioneering fibre-optic services and maintaining state-of-the-art VSAT infrastructure serving both Ghana and the sub-region.
Emphasising the event’s theme, ‘Beyond Connectivity’, the Ga Mantse encouraged Comsys to continue its focus on innovation, youth development and community investment.
He further urged international partners to view collaboration with Comsys as an investment in Ghana’s broader development vision.
“Long live Comsys Ghana Limited. Long live the telecommunications industry. Long live the Greater Accra Region. Long live Ghana,” the Ga Mantse concluded.
Chief Executive Officer-Comsys Ghana Jonathan Lamptey, speaking at the event, traced Comsys’s evolution from a modest ICT solutions provider in 2000 to a leading national backbone for enterprise connectivity.
“We started by supplying computers and communication hardware, but quickly recognised a major challenge in Ghana’s financial sector – unequal access to reliable connectivity.
“This realisation prompted the company to pivot toward building stable nationwide network infrastructure that businesses could rely on ‘like the oxygen you breathe’,” Mr. Lamptey explained.
He noted that Comsys operates over 80 MPLS points of presence across all 16 regions, a national fiber-optic backbone and KU/KA band satellite services which ensure connectivity even in remote areas.
The company has earned 13 consecutive industry awards for enterprise solutions and ISP excellence. Despite challenges such as frequent fibre-cuts and high maintenance costs, Lamptey emphasised that Comsys has remained resilient – contributing significantly to Ghana’s digital ecosystem.
The CEO also highlighted the company’s pioneering achievements, including constructing Ghana’s first open-access network and a workforce comprising 65 percent engineers trained in advanced technologies.
Looking ahead, Comsys is embracing a bold vision “beyond connectivity” that is focusing on AI, cloud services and powering Ghana’s digital economy ambitions, the CEO added.
Initiatives for the future include operating the Porto DC Tier 3 data centre, ongoing work on a tier 4 facility and hosting a global low-earth-orbit satellite portal that positions Ghana as a digital gateway for Africa.
“Our future is about transformation and acceleration. We aim to eliminate disruptions and usher-in an era of intelligent, automated, seamless digital infrastructure. Comsys is ready for the future,” he concluded
For over 25 years, Comsys Ghana has evolved from a small local ICT provider into a national leader in digital infrastructure, showcasing innovation, integrity, and a strong commitment to advancing Ghana’s technology.
