Ghana’s Economic Policies Explained for Business Owners

The National Sports Authority (NSA), under the leadership of Director General Mr. Yaw Ampofo Ankrah and his deputies, in collaboration with the Registrar General’s Department, today, May 30, 2025, organized a comprehensive workshop aimed at educating sports federations on critical procedures regarding registration and amendment of resolutions.

The workshop brought together representatives from various sports federations who were eager to gain a deeper understanding of the regulatory framework governing their operations.

In a welcome address, Mr. Ankrah emphasized the importance of compliance, transparency and sound governance in strengthening the sports sector in Ghana.

The two Deputy Director General of the NSA, Ms. Veronica Commey (Technical) and Mr. Gideon Hammond (Administration), also delivered remarks in support of the initiative.

Ms. Commey highlighted the need for federations to align technically with evolving global standards, while Mr. Hammond emphasized the importance of collaboration with the media to amplify lesser-known sports and their activities.

He expressed excitement about exploring potential partnerships with media houses and the private sector to give these sports the visibility they deserve, ultimately promoting a more diverse and vibrant sports landscape in Ghana.

Officials from the Registrar General’s Department delivered a detailed educational session on what federations must know and do when registering and amending their governing documents. They outlined the key documentation required, timelines to observe and legal implications of non-compliance.

The session also covered the correct procedures for submitting amendment resolutions, equipping federations with practical knowledge for future regulatory engagements.
