A Vision for Empowerment
For SeamlessHR’s Co-founder and CEO, Dr. Emmanuel Okeleji, this funding represents more than just financial support; it’s a bold opportunity to tackle the challenges faced by Africa’s workforce.
Reflecting on the company’s progress, Dr. Okeleji highlighted how SeamlessHR is uniquely positioned to improve the lives of hardworking Africans.
“I am really excited about our journey. Over the last five years, we have expanded across the continent to become the dominant HR and Payroll Software for medium to large enterprises in Africa.
“While we continue to accelerate our work to optimize workforce productivity in both the public and private sectors, much of our attention will also be on empowering hardworking Africans with responsible credit products that will help them use their employment as collateral to enjoy a better life,” he said.
SeamlessHR’s focus on embedded finance products comes at a critical time, addressing the economic difficulties that many African workers face daily. It is seen that by bridging the gap between employment and access to essential services, the company is unlocking opportunities for workers to secure housing, education, and transportation.

Backing from Strategic Partners
The key role of technology in driving Africa’s economic transformation was emphasized by Helios Digital Ventures, one of the leading investors in this funding round.
Recognizing SeamlessHR’s potential, Managing Partner Fope Adelowo praised the company’s efforts to digitize workforce management and break barriers to financial inclusion.
“We believe technology is the key to unlocking Africa’s immense potential as a global economic force. SeamlessHR is not only pioneering the digitization of workforce management but also empowering businesses and employees with transformative solutions such as embedded finance.
“By providing salary assurance and enhanced wage access, they are breaking down barriers to financial inclusion across the continent. We are pleased to partner with SeamlessHR on this exciting journey and look forward to accelerating their impact across Africa in its next phase of growth,” Adelowo shared.
Similarly, the Gates Foundation, another strategic partner, expressed confidence in SeamlessHR’s ability to deliver critical financial solutions to millions of formally employed Africans. The foundation’s support highlights the global recognition of SeamlessHR’s mission and its potential to create meaningful change across the continent.
“The Gates Foundation is excited about the potential for SeamlessHR to enable access to critical financial services for millions of hard-working, formally employed Africans,” said Uche Amaonwu, Country Director of the Gates Foundation.
Expanding Possibilities for African Workers
This $9 million investment builds on SeamlessHR’s recent rollout of embedded finance products, offering vital payroll financing and other helpful tools for both employers and employees. These solutions are designed to address tough economic issues like inflation and shrinking purchasing power, while promoting a more inclusive and supportive environment for African workers.
