The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has launched an 11-member committee to investigate the reasons behind its defeat in the 2024 general elections.
The committee, chaired by former Speaker of Parliament Prof. Mike Oquaye, has been mandated to thoroughly examine the party’s internal workings, campaign strategies, and broader challenges that contributed to the electoral loss.
The committee has been granted a three-month window to conduct its review and present findings to the National Council.

According to Justin Frimpong Kodua, the NPP’s General Secretary, the terms of reference for the committee include:
- Evaluating the party’s internal election processes.
- Reviewing the overall campaign strategy.
- Identifying factors that led to the loss.
- Proposing actionable solutions to strengthen the party for future contests.
