Ghana Grows and GHABA Partner to Equip Skills of Hairdressers Across Ghana

Ghana Grows Programme in partnership with the Ghana Hairdressers and Beauticians Association (GHABA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to equip the skills of hairdressers and beauticians across Ghana.

This collaborative initiative is to create sustainable employment opportunities for young people, particularly women and persons with disabilities, in various vocational fields, including the beauty and hairdressing industry.

In a press statement copied to announce the initiative, the Executive Director of the Springboard Road Show Foundation, Mrs Comfort Ocran, emphasized the significance of the initiative. She said, “Through Ghana Grows, we are committed to empowering young people with not just technical expertise but also business and entrepreneurial skills.”

She said the partnership with GHABA is an opportunity to extend the Foundation’s impact in the vocational sector and ensure that hairdressers and beauticians have the necessary tools to succeed in today’s evolving market.

The statement said, under the agreement, GHABA members will benefit from specialized training programs, mentorship sessions, and career development resources.

It also said the partnership will offer psychosocial support, financial literacy training, and digital marketing skills, enabling professionals in the beauty industry to modernize their businesses and stay competitive.

Mrs Tina Offei Yirenkyi, National President of GHABA, welcomed the collaboration, saying: “We are excited to partner with Ghana Grows to help our members enhance their craft and expand their opportunities. This initiative will be transformational for many in our industry.”
