President-elect John Mahama has praised Vice President and NPP Flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for graciously conceding defeat ahead of the official announcement of the 2024 election results.
In his acceptance speech late on Monday, December 9, after the EC officially declared the results, John Mahama said Dr. Bawumia’s actions helped ease tensions that would have otherwise arisen if he hadn’t conceded defeat.
“I would like to thank the Vice President Dr. Mahamud Bawumia for his statesmanship in conceding the elections long before the declaration of the results by the Electoral Commission. This concession largely diffused the tension that are characteristic of elections such as this,” John Mahama noted.
