Mahama Praises Bawumia’s Statesmanship in Accepting Election Defeat—–President elect, John Mahama has acknowledged Vice President and NPP Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for conceding defeat earlier before the official declaration of results of the 2024 elections.
John Mahama in his acceptance speech late night on Monday, December 9 after the EC has officially declared the results said Dr. Bawumia’s actions eased the tensions that hitherto would have arisen if he had not conceded defeat.
“I would like to thank the Vice President Dr. Mahamud Bawumia for his statesmanship in conceding the elections long before the declaration of the results by the Electoral Commission. This concession largely diffused the tension that are characteristic of elections such as this,” John Mahama noted.
